Overview & Highlights

Terry and Yaki is a vibrant Japanese food truck nestled in the heart of Long Island City at 27-01 Queens Plaza N, offering a fresh and flavorful take on Asian fusion cuisine. This local gem has quickly become a favorite for those seeking quick, satisfying meals that don’t compromise on quality or taste.

Specializing in teriyaki dishes, Terry and Yaki delivers hearty portions packed with bold flavors that linger delightfully on the palate. The Yaki Rice Bowl is a standout: tender teriyaki chicken resting on a bed of fluffy white rice, paired beautifully with seasonal Chinese vegetables and tangy pickled carrots for an added crunch. At just $13.50, it strikes a perfect balance between affordability and generosity, as many reviewers attest to the sizeable portions and rich taste.

For those seeking plant-based options, the Vegan Tofu Bowl offers savory marinated tofu puffs served with the same fresh accompaniments, making it a hit even among non-vegans. Meanwhile, the Terry Salad Bowl combines the lively umami of teriyaki chicken atop a crisp blend of kale, purple cabbage, and carrot salad, all tossed in their signature sauce—adding a refreshing crunch and vibrant color to the menu.

Customers rave about the food’s comforting, homestyle quality and the warmth of the crew behind the counter. The fast, friendly service combined with freshly prepared dishes makes it an excellent grab-and-go option without sacrificing flavor or freshness. As one loyal fan mentioned, the team’s generosity shines through with occasional freebies and genuine smiles that make every visit feel special.

The atmosphere of dining here is casual but welcoming—the perfect pitstop for busy commuters or anyone craving a quick, delicious meal. The convenient location at Queens Plaza offers easy pedestrian access, making it a go-to for those exploring Long Island City or rushing between appointments.

Drinks are straightforward, with simple options like refreshing water or classic Coke to complement your meal without overshadowing the vibrant flavors of the food. Whether you’re craving a comforting chicken teriyaki bowl or a fresh, vegan-friendly option, Terry and Yaki crafts each dish with care, ensuring each visit leaves you feeling satisfied and eager to return.

In sum, Terry and Yaki is more than just a food truck—it’s a testament to spirited cooking and community connection. Its thoughtfully prepared menu, generous servings, and lively staff create an inviting experience that goes well beyond a quick bite. For anyone in the Long Island City area looking to indulge in flavorful Japanese-inspired fare served with charm and efficiency, Terry and Yaki is a must-visit.

$13 for a bowl of rice with teriyaki – it tasted great and the portion was really big. Definitely recommend!

This food truck is absolutely amazing and the people who work there are lovely :) they gave me a freebie last time and it was delicious! Thank you!

The purpose of this review is not to hate or harm this food trailer in any way, shape, or form. That being said, I hope you take this review as an informative review. Atmosphere: Food trailer located at Queens Plaza. It's easily accessible, walking, not so much when driving. Anyway, after a couple of days passing by it, I decided to give it a try. Service: The guy who took my order was really friendly and welcoming. Food was made in a timely manner. Food: I ordered the Terayaki Super Food Bowl and the Sweet Potato Fries, decentportions. I did like the bowl, especially because of the veggies it has. However, I think the chicken was stir-fried with too much terayaki sauce, as you can see in one of the pictures. I started to get overwhelmed by the sauce when I was halfway done. You can give them instructions on how much sauce you want on your order and I believe they'll kindly follow them. I will do that next time. I really liked the sweet potato fries. Price: This being a street food category, I think their prices are fair. Much better quality and flavors(including service) than the food being served at other food trucks.

Went for the terry bowl. Well… the location is convenient to grab and go if you’re tight on time as was my case. The crew were extremely helpful and brimming with positivity. However, the terry bowl was an average takeaway, with dry and barely chewable kale and gooey chicken. I hope it was an outlier.

Great place for a takeout meal. I got the yaki bowl and it was ready within 3,4 minutes. Swift service, great portions for the price point and the food is hearty!

These guys are great.. they're chicken and rice are awesome, well done, tasty, the rice and veggies are delicious too, make sure u try the sauces and potato fries.. literally on train as we speak ot grab a bowl

Terry and Yaki food truck serves up flavorful, halal Asian fusion dishes with options for everyone including vegan and vegetarian choices. Their generous portions and fresh ingredients make it a must-try spot in NYC.

This is our favorite NYC food truck! We usually stop here once a week, the food is delicious. My husband loves the Super Bowl and the tofu bowl is what I usually get and I’m not a vegan or even a vegetarian, it’s just that good.
